COVID vaccination for Heltti's occupational health care clients

To help public health care, Heltti is providing COVID vaccinations to speed up the national vaccination process. COVID vaccinations in Heltti clinics will gradually begin next week (week 2).

From this page, you can find the latest information and updates regarding the COVID vaccinations at Heltti clinics, as well as instructions on how to add vaccinations to your service contracts.

How to add COVID vaccinations to your Service Contract

As our occupational health care customer, we offer you the chance to vaccinate your employees via Heltti in those municipalities where it can be arranged as agreed with the hospital district and the municipality. The price of one vaccination is 35 € (including work, administrative fees and protective equipment).

Heltti’s COVID vaccination locations

  • Greater Helsinki area*: Vaccinations at our main clinic in Helsinki on January 12th onwards
  • Tampere: Vaccination day on January 21st. More vaccination days will be opened as needed.
  • Oulu: Vaccination day on January 25th. More vaccination days will be opened as needed.
  • Turku: Members of Turku area are directed to vaccinations via the public health care due to its excellent vaccination situation.

COVID vaccinations are included in Heltti’s normal occupational health care invoice and will be submitted for compensation after the fiscal period via Kela’s reimbursement form. The compensation covers 60% of costs up until the maximum limit in Kela’s reimbursement category 1.

Important information on COVID vaccinations provided by Heltti

About COVID vaccinations via occupational health care service provider

Vaccinations can only be obtained from your own occupational health service provider who has entered into a bilateral agreement with the municipality. This means that Heltti members can only be vaccinated by Heltti in our clinics and referrals to our medical partners, such as Aava, are not available.

Vaccinations via occupational healthcare can be provided based on the employer’s place of business, regardless of the person’s own domicile.

Information about the COVID vaccines and vaccination locations

Heltti has the following vaccinations: (mRNA) Biontech-Pfizer Comirnaty and Moderna Spikevax. We use primarily Moderna’s vaccine.

Heltti will carry out vaccinations in our own clinics, where we can better ensure overall safety measures as well as storage and handling requirements of the vaccines. Heltti’s vaccination locations and schedules are provided on this page and appointment booking will be done via MyHeltti. The Heltti members who are not able to visit any of Heltti’s clinics are adviced to get their COVID vaccines from public health care.

Notice about Heltti’s services

To ensure a successful and efficient vaccination process we are directing the time and effort of our nurses towards administering vaccinations over the next two weeks. This affects Heltti services in following ways:
  • Availability of non-urgent appointments to occupational and health nurses are limited
  • HelttiChat services are limited (no realtime chat)
  • HelttiLinja operates as normal

Book your COVID vaccination appointment and read the following information

Login to MyHeltti and book the vaccination appointment from the online booking calendar. You will get confirmation message via SMS. 

COVID vaccination provided for you depends on your age* and how many doses you have already got. Heltti provides 1st dose, as well and 2nd and 3rd booster vaccinations. MyHeltti online appointment booking system will guide you to book right kind of appointment for you.

Vaccination locations and appointment schedules

As per recommendation by the health care administrators, Heltti will carry out vaccinations in our own clinics, where we can better ensure overall safety measures as well as storage and handling requirements of the vaccines.

  • Helsinki, vaccination appointments starting from 12th Jan: Heltti’s main clinic EmoHelttilä, Mannerheimintie 12 A.  
  • Tampere, vaccination day on Jan 21st: City center, Technopolis, Kalevantie 2, C-talo, 2. krs. More vaccination days will be opened as needed.
  • Oulu, vaccination day on Jan 25th: Lääkäritalo, Koulukatu 34. More vaccination days will be opened as needed.
  • Turku: Members of Turku area are directed to vaccinations via the public health care due to its excellent vaccination situation.

Practical information on arriving to your scheduled COVID vaccination appointment

  • Come to get your COVID vaccination only when you are healthy!
  • Arrive to Heltti’s clinic 5 minutes before your scheduled vaccination appointments. By doing this, we make sure there are not queues or too big groups at the same time.
  • When arriving to your second or third vaccination, please prepare to show your COVID-19 vaccination certificate so our staff can ensure an appropriate dosage interval.
  • We require face mask from everyone visiting our clinics. Please, use hand sanitizer when you arrive to Heltti’s clinic, and also before you leave the clinic.
  • After the vaccination, please reserve 15 minutes time before you Heltti’s clinic. For us, it is important to make sure you leave Heltti’s clinic feeling well.
  • It is recommended to avoid strenuous physical activity for 3 days after vaccination.

Important information on the appointment charges and cancellations

Price of the vaccination appointment

When vaccination is given by occupational health care provider, the vaccination work is charged from the employer. The coronavirus vaccine is free of charge for individuals living in Finland.

Cancellation policy

According to the Terms of Service, Heltti reserves the right to charge a booked appointment unless it is canceled or postponed no later than 12 hours before the booked time. If you need to change your vaccination appointment, please contact Heltti as soon as possible by phone or chat.

Frequently Asked Questions


Who can get COVID vaccination via occupational health care?

Occupational health service provider vaccines working aged people (16-64 years). People who are considered to belong in any COVID risk groups and immunocompromised get their vaccines from the public health care.

In occupational health, we only vaccinate those members whose employer has entered into an agreement with Heltti and thus pay for the COVID vaccinations provided by occupational health. Occupational health does not vaccinate the employee’s family members, only the employees and the employer pay the vaccination costs. We can vaccinate employees covered by Heltti’s occupational health care based on the employer’s location, regardless of the employee’s hometown.

How can I get the COVID vaccination at Heltti's clinic?

First, check from your employer that your employer has added COVID vaccination to your company’s Service Contract. If you employer has added COVID vaccinations to your Service Contract, You can book a COVID vaccination appointment by logging in to MyHeltti.

As per recommendations by health care administrators, Heltti only vaccinates in its own clinics. By doing so, we can better ensure safe transactions and the shelf life of medicines. Heltti will be provide vaccinations in our clinics located in Helsinki, Tampere, Turku and Oulu.

Can I pay the COVID vaccine by myself?

Unfortunately, you don’t. In the case of COVID vaccination, we as the occupational health care service provider, can only vaccinate people whose employer has added COVID vaccinations to their Service Contract with Heltti. If your employer has not added COVID vaccinations to your company’s service contract, we advice you to get your COVID vaccine from the public health care. We can’t either vaccinate workers’ relatives or family members.

What COVID vaccines are used?

At Heltti, you will get Biontech-Pfizer’s Comirnaty or Moderna Spikevax mRNA vaccine.
We use primarily Moderna’s vaccine. The exception is men under the age of 30, for whom only the Biontech-Pfizer vaccine is currently recommended.

Can the 2nd and 3rd booster doses be given with a different COVID vaccine?

Yes. The COVID vaccination series may be supplemented and boosted with a different vaccine preparation than the one previously vaccinated, provided that there is no medical impediment to the use of the other product.

For men under 30 years of age, only a new dose of Biontech-Pfizer is recommended, even if the first or second dose is given with Moderna.

When can I get the booster doses?

  • Interval between 1st and 2nd vaccination
    • min. 6 weeks between doses
  • Interval between 2nd and 3rd vaccination
    • People aged between 18 and 59 year who don’t belong to any risk groups are vaccinated with a min. 4 months between doses.
    • People 60 years of age and older, and people at medical risk groups are vaccinated with a min. 3-month dose interval.

Please remember to prepare to show your COVID-19 vaccination certificate when arriving to your second or third vaccination, so our staff can ensure an appropriate dosage interval.

Should I be vaccinated if I already had COVID?

For people who already have had coronavirus, the first dose of COVID vaccine is recommended 6 months after coronavirus. A severely immunocompromised vaccine may be given earlier. 

For anyone over the age of 18, a second dose of the COVID vaccination is recommended 4 to 6 months after the first dose or the latest coronavirus illness, whichever is last. For those 60 years of age and older, at risk, a second dose is recommended 3 to 4 months after the first dose of the vaccine or the last illness, whichever is last. 

According to the current recommendation of the THL, Heltti does not give a third dose if a healthy person has had COVID and has received two doses of the COVID vaccine. The exception is severely immunocompromised individuals, for whom a third dose of the vaccine is strongly recommended, even if they have had coronavirus.

What are the possible side effects of COVID vaccines?

Most side effects of COVID vaccines are mild and transient. Most commonly, local symptoms at the injection site, such as pain, redness, hot flushes and swelling, occur after vaccination. Transient general symptoms such as fever, chills, muscle aches, headache, fatigue, irritability, malaise are also very common.

  • Local and general symptoms usually begin the latests within a few days of vaccination. They will pass in a few hours or days. They can be treated with antipyretics and painkillers. Local and general symptoms do not preclude further vaccination.

Can the vaccine be taken when pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to  get pregnant?

The National Institute for Health and Welfare recommends COVID-19 vaccination for all pregnant women, as pregnancy exposes them to severe coronavirus disease. You can have the COVID-19 vaccine at any stage of the pregnancy. There is also no need to postpone attempts to conceive, or fertility treatments because of a coronavirus vaccine. A COVID-19 vaccine can be taken while breastfeeding. (THL)

The EU COVID-19 vaccination certificate will be visible in your My Kanta Pages once you have been vaccinated. Please note that a few day delay is possible.

What are the contraindications and precautions associated with the COVID vaccine?

A healthcare professional administering the vaccines makes an assessment of whether the vaccine is suitable for the person to be vaccinated or whether there are any obstacles to vaccination due to their condition or possible illness.Current contradictions to taking a COVID vaccine are:

  • Immediate serious allergic reaction, i.e. anaphylaxis
  • Myocarditis (myocarditis or pericarditis) from the previous mRNA vaccine, in which case we will direct to the public healthcare for adenovirus vector vaccine
  • Fever or febrile infection
  • Normally healthy person (not belonging to specific risk group) who has had COVID disease and two vaccines
  • Polyethylene glycols (macrogols) hypersensitivity
  • Significant neutropenia or thrombocytopenia

If an mRNA vaccine is found to be inappropriate, we will direct to a public sector for an adenovirus vector vaccination.

Can I get other vaccinations, such as the influenza vaccine, at COVID vaccination appointment?

We do not provide other vaccinations at corona vaccination clinics to ensure the smooth running of the vaccination session and the accuracy of appointment times.
